Man held over fatal stabbing in east London

A man has been arrested after a 24-year-old man died following a stabbing in east London.

Police were called to The Beaver Centre, Selinas Lane, Dagenham just after 05:30 BST.

The man, who has not been formally identified, had suffered multiple injuries and was taken to an east London hospital where he later died.

The 38-year-old man arrested at an address in Goodmayes in connection with the attack remains in custody.

Met Police said they believe there was a dispute between two groups at the entrance to the venue where a function was being held.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.
