Second man charged over Wimbledon burglary attack
A second man has appeared in court charged with badly beating a homeowner during a burglary in south-west London.
Paul Kohler, 55, opened the door of his Kings Road home in Wimbledon to a group of masked men on Monday night.
The gang then brutally beat the academic, leaving him with "life-changing" facial injuries.
Pawel Honc, 23, who is accused of causing grievous bodily harm and aggravated burglary, was remanded in custody by Wimbledon magistrates.
Mr Honc, of no fixed address, is due to face a preliminary hearing at Kingston Crown Court on 27 August.
On Wednesday, Mariusz Tomaszewski, 32, from Pitcairn Road, Tooting, was also remanded in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court charged with causing grievous bodily harm and aggravated burglary.
Mr Kohler suffered multiple facial injuries and was left needing reconstructive surgery.
Police said they were still looking for two more suspects.
