Couple deny keeping man as slave for 24 years

A couple accused of keeping a man as a slave for 24 years have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

At Harrow Crown Court Dr Emmanuel Edet, 59, and Antan Edet, 56, of Perivale, west London, denied holding a person in slavery or servitude and assisting unlawful immigration.

It is alleged the man was brought to England in 1989 and was moved around several addresses.

The man approached police in 2013. A trial is due to start on 8 December.
