Battersea tower block fire: 18 rescued from blaze

Eighteen people were rescued by firefighters after a blaze broke out in a tower block in south London.

London Fire Brigade said it sent 80 firefighters and 12 fire engines to the fourth floor of the high-rise block on Ingrave Street in Battersea after it was called at 15:55 BST.

The Met said 10 people had been treated for minor injuries, while six were taken to hospital for treatment.

The road is closed both ways between A3207 Falcon Road and Wye Street.

The fire brigade said the cause of the blaze was currently unknown.

The Met helicopter team helped to monitor the blaze.
