Teenager arrested over bus stabbing in Sutton

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a teenager was stabbed in south London.

Emergency services were called to reports of a boy being stabbed on a 151 bus on St Helier Avenue, Sutton, at about 14:30 BST on Friday.

The 15-year-old victim was taken to a London hospital, where he is in a serious but stable condition.

Sutton CID officers are investigating the incident and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

It is understood the victim managed to get off the bus before collapsing on the pavement near the Rose Hill roundabout.

The Met Police said the arrested boy is being held at a south London police station.
