Tower Hamlets cyclist killed in crash with car

A cyclist has died after a crash with a car in east London.

The 57-year-old man died in hospital on Sunday following the crash with a Toyota Yaris in Leman Street, Tower Hamlets, on Saturday morning.

The driver of the car, a 46-year-old man, has been arrested and bailed until February.

The victim has yet to be formally identified but his next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem examination is due to take place.

The cyclist was the 13th to be killed on London's roads in 2014, according to Transport for London.

There were 14 cyclist deaths in the capital in 2013.
