Lancaster Gate stabbing: Man charged

A man has been charged after a London Underground worker was stabbed in the face in a Tube station's ticket hall.

Ansar Mahmood, 40, of no fixed abode, has been charged with GBH with intent and threatening a bladed article.

He was remanded in custody and will appear at Blackfriers Crown Court on 4 February.

The male customer service assistant, reported to be in his 30s, was attacked at around 10:40 GMT at Lancaster Gate station last week.
