A man has been arrested after a missing girl walked into a police station more than a week after she had climbed out of a window and disappeared.

The 16-year-old left a property in south east London on 16 May. She was believed to be with a 51-year-old man.

The Met said a man of the same age was arrested after attending a police station with the girl on Tuesday.

He has been arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images and indecent assault.

He is also suspected of committing an offence contrary to Section 49 of the Children Act 1989 and remains in police custody.
