Boy aged two critical after being hit by a car in Brent

A two-year-old boy is critical after he was hit by a car when out walking with his grandfather in north-west London.

They were struck near the junction of Kenton Road and Claremont Avenue in Brent, at 19:40 BST on Friday.

The boy and his 59-year-old grandfather were taken to hospital with the child in a life-threatening condition. The man's injuries were not critical.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, the Met Police said.

He has been bailed until October.
