Gang stab man 12 times in Stockport attack

A 21-year-old man suffered multiple stab wounds in an attack by a masked gang at a house in Greater Manchester.

The victim was stabbed 12 times by a gang of five men at Astbury Crescent, Stockport, in the early hours.

His condition is described as serious, but is not believed to be life-threatening, police said.

Witnesses reported seeing the attackers with their faces covered, driving off in a dark car. Police said the vehicle may have been a Mazda.

Det Con Rich McCorry, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "While this man is in hospital recovering from this attack, we have launched a thorough investigation into what happened and who was responsible.

"We have had some reports from witnesses, but I would urge anyone who has any information that could help us to get in touch."
