Arson arrest after spate of fires in Bolton
A man has been arrested after an arson attack in an area of Bolton, which has seen a spate of wheelie bin fires.
The 42-year-old was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life after a fire at house in Farnworth at 0650 BST.
The blaze at Glynne Street, Farnworth, had been started by a flaming curtain, which had been pushed into the house, the fire service said.
The house was unoccupied at the time of the attack.
It is the fifth attempted arson in the Farnworth area since May.
Police said it was too early to link the attacks, but a spokesman said they were aware that the latest happened "just around the corner" from previous attacks at addresses in Campbell Court and Cadwor Street.
