An investigation is under way after a large fire broke out at a waste recycling plant in Bolton.

About 60 firefighters were called to the plant on Station Road in Blackrod just before 2000 BST on Tuesday.

The fire at the site, which is near the M61, sent plumes of black smoke drifting over the motorway but there were no reports of any injuries.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has launched an investigation into what caused the fire.
