Boy who fled secure unit during cycle test arrested

A second teenager who escaped from a secure unit in Salford while taking a cycling proficiency test has been arrested.

The 13-year-old was found in Blackpool at 0840 BST and detained on suspicion of escape from lawful custody.

A 14-year-old boy, who also rode away from supervisors outside Barton Moss Secure Unit in Eccles on 15 September, was arrested in Blackburn on Friday.

The boys were on a supervised test when they cycled off on mountain bikes.
