Five people have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a young man who was shot dead in the car park of a doctors' surgery in Oldham.

Mohammed Junaid Khan, known as Junaid, was shot multiple times as he lay on the ground in Block Lane, Chadderton, in the early hours of 9 July 2009.

The 21-year-old had been visiting friends and was shot with an automatic weapon when he returned to his car.

Four men, aged 22 to 28, and a woman, 27, were arrested on Monday morning.

They all remain in custody, a police spokeswoman said.

Junaid, of Cotton Mill Crescent in Oldham, was described by his family as "a much-loved son" who was their "strength and support".
