Man dragged in pitchfork attack in Salford

A man is in hospital after being tied up, attacked with a pitchfork and dragged through the streets of Salford, Greater Manchester.

The 36-year-old victim was attacked in a Graymar Road flat on Wednesday night.

His attackers then tied a rope around him, dragged him and beat him repeatedly with a crow bar before dumping him Eastham Way, Little Hulton.

Two men aged 29 and 38 have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He is currently in a stable condition but has a number of injuries, police said.

Det Insp Clare Devlin said: "This was a horrific and prolonged attack and we want to speak to anyone who may have seen something.

"It is possibly only sheer luck that the man is not in a more serious condition, especially as he was dragged through the streets.
