The woman, 33, was attacked in Fairfield Street, near Piccadilly station, at 1950 BST on 13 October.

A 19-year-old man, of Levenshulme, has been charged with three counts of rape and is due before magistrates later.

Police are continuing to investigate the rape of a second woman in nearby Wyre Street on 11 October. Two men have been arrested over that attack.

One man, 19, has been bailed while police continue their inquiries.

The other, 22, was arrested on Wednesday night and remains in police custody.

Police have said they are exploring similarities between the two attacks.
