Murder charge over death at house in north Manchester

A man has been charged with murder after the body of a 50-year-old man was found at a house in north Manchester.

Michael Naylor was found dead in Hambridge Close, Cheetham Hill in the early hours of Monday.

A post-mortem examination found he had died from stab wounds to his chest, Greater Manchester Police said.

A 40-year-old man from Cheetham Hill was charged with murder. He was due to appear at Manchester City Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

Mr Naylor's family paid tribute to him, in a statement issued by the police.

They said: "Michael was kind and generous with a great sense of humour.

"A man of great integrity with a heart of gold, who will be missed by all his family."
