Murder charge over Hyde canal bridge body find

A man has been charged with murder after a man was found stabbed to death on a bridge in Greater Manchester.

Paul Begley, 43, was found dead on the bridge in Woodend Lane, Hyde, on Saturday morning.

Police believe his body had been carried in a car before being dumped in the town.

Mario Simpson, 38, of Somerford Road, Reddish, has been charged with murder and is due to appear before Stockport magistrates later.

A post-mortem examination found Mr Begley died from multiple stab wounds.

A 31-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder and a 17-year-old youth and 39-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have all been bailed pending further inquiries.
