Son charged with mother's murder in Salford

A man has been charged with the murder of his mother, who was found dead at a house in Salford in July.

Elsie Hayes, 78, was discovered at the house on Littleton Road, Lower Kersal, on 10 July.

A post-mortem examination found the cause of her death was multiple injuries to her head and body.

Lee Hayes, 57, of Littleton Road is due to appear via videolink at Manchester Crown Court on Thursday charged with murder.
