Water supply restored to houses in Ramsbottom

  • Published

Eighty-two homes in Greater Manchester have had their water restored in time for Christmas Day.

Households in Ramsbottom were without water since approximately 0600 GMT after a water main burst.

United Utilities said the work had taken longer than expected to fix because its workers needed to isolate a nearby gas main to reach the leak.

The company said that the area's supplies had been be restored to all homes by 1700 GMT.
