Man has part of ear bitten off in Bolton

A 21-year-old man had part of his ear bitten off in a brawl at a club in Greater Manchester.

The fight broke out inside J2 in Bolton in the early hours and spilled out into the street.

The victim was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital where he was undergoing surgery, a police spokesman said.

Officers are trying to trace another man who was white, about 35 and 5ft 11in (1.8m) tall. He had a stocky build and a pattern shaved in his hair.

Det Con Stuart Round, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "This was a shockingly violent end to a dispute which clearly got out of hand.

"There were a large number of people milling around in and around the club at the time and I am convinced some of them would have seen what happened."

He urged anyone with information to contact police.
