Oldham stab victim 'a fantastic father'

The family of a man who was stabbed to death in Oldham have described him as a "fantastic and caring father".

Tony Dale, 51, was discovered by police in a flat in Middleton Road, at 0920 GMT on Friday after a man walked into a police station to report a murder.

A post-mortem examination found he had died from a single stab wound to the chest.

Dale Ross, 46, from Middleton Road, has been charged with murder and is due to appear before Oldham magistrates later.

A statement from Mr Dale's family said: "Tony was a fantastic and caring father to his three sons, soulmate to Jane, and a loving son."
