United Utilities restores Manchester water supply

  • Published

The water supply has been restored to homes in part of Manchester, which were cut off after contractors cut through a mains pipe during gas repairs.

United Utilities said its engineers took two hours to repair the pipe in Fog Lane, Didsbury.

The road and five surrounding streets lost their supply at about 1700 GMT.

The firm said the repair was "a straightforward task that we needed to carry out after the mains was accidentally damaged by a third party".
