Police hunting a man in connection with a rape in Oldham believe he may have returned to Greater Manchester, having fled the area after the attack.

The man, believed to be called Francisco Lima or Luciano Semedo Dos Reis, is being sought over a rape in Park Road on 3 November 2007.

Police said they had received information suggesting he was now in the Manchester area.

They have appealed to anyone with information to contact them.

He is described as black, stocky, about 5ft 7in (1.7m) tall, aged 25, with short black hair.

He has a two-inch scar on one of his cheekbones and may answer to the nickname Pitbull, police said.

Det Con Michelle Lomax said: "It has been more than three years since this woman was raped, and we will not rest until her attacker has been brought to justice."
