Inquiry into Manchester city centre rape closed

Detectives in Manchester have said they are no longer investigating an alleged rape of an 18-year-old woman in the city centre.

Police received a report that a woman had been attacked in Bridge Street West at about 0230 BST.

Officers sealed off the area for several hours, for investigations.

On Monday afternoon, a Greater Manchester Police spokeswoman confirmed they had closed their inquiry.
