Part of a man's ear bitten off in a Bury pub attack

A 53-year-old man has had part of his ear bitten off in an attack at a pub in Greater Manchester.

Police said a "stockily built skinhead" asked the victim if he knew who he was before biting part of his ear off, spitting it onto the floor and leaving.

The attack took place on Tuesday at around 2230 BST at the Morning Star pub on Thomas Street, Radcliffe.

The offender has been described as being a white, in his 40s and 5ft 10ins tall.

Det Con Martin Brown said: "This was a horrific assault that has left the victim disfigured and in lots of pain.

"Someone in the pub knows who this man is and I would urge them to contact us as soon as possible.

"I would reassure the community that we do not think this was a random attack."
