Bury family 'shocked' at murder of man shot in Pakistan
The family of a Greater Manchester businessman who was murdered in Pakistan have said they cannot understand why he was shot dead.
Father-of-six Tariq Hafeez, from Prestwich, Bury, was killed as he left Lahore Airport in a taxi on Friday.
The 45-year-old, who ran a textiles import export company, had been on a business trip.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) said it was making inquiries into the death.
Mr Hafeez's wife has flown to Pakistan to bring his body back to the UK.
His brother, Asim Choudhary, said he was not aware of any grudge against him.
'Miss their father'
"Everybody is shocked that this has happened to us because the gentleman was the nicest guy," Mr Choudhary said.
"Tariq is a lovely, lovely guy and he always loved everyone in his family and he supported his family a lot and his friends as well.
"Everyone is feeling sorry and very sad.
"The kids are going to miss their father all their lives."
A spokesperson for the FCO said: "We are making inquiries into the death of a British National in Pakistan.
"Consular officials are providing assistance to the family."
