Firefighters looking for a missing man working inside a Rochdale mill have discovered a body.

He was among five people inside Sartex Mill on the Halfpenny Bridge Industrial Estate when the blaze began at about 1800 BST on Wednesday.

Four were evacuated as 50 firefighters tackled the blaze at the mill, which manufactures bedding and textiles.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "The body of a man has been found from inside the building."

He added: "An investigation with the fire service and Health and Safety Executive is ongoing and but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death."

More than 20 firefighters are continuing to dampen down the blaze, which the fire service believes was started accidentally.

Oldham Road, near Durham Street has now re-opened after being closed overnight.
