Moorside man Michael Lofthouse killed in scooter crash

A father-of-two has died after his scooter collided with a car which was reversing from a driveway in Greater Manchester.

The Yamaha scooter and Toyota Colorado collided in Turf Pit Lane, Oldham, at about 1820 BST on Thursday.

Michael Lofthouse, 27, of Moorside, was riding the scooter. He was taken to hospital but died shortly afterwards.

His partner Kathryn said: "Michael was a lovely, bubbly lad who loved his family and kids."

She added: "He was a devoted father and the most kind-hearted person I have ever met.

"He was the love of my life."
