Man charged with murdering Ian Sudworth in Wigan

A man has been charged with murdering a man who was stabbed in Wigan.

Ian Sudworth, 24, from Beech Hill, was found unconscious on Scot Lane shortly after 04:00 GMT on Saturday.

He was taken to Wigan Royal Infirmary where he died a short time later. A post-mortem examination found he was killed by three stab wounds.

Jonathan Marron, 21, of Stranraer Road, Marsh Green, has been charged with murder and causing actual bodily harm, Greater Manchester Police said.

An 18-year-old woman was also punched in the mouth in the incident.
