Teenager sexually assaulted in Chorlton cemetery


A teenage girl has been sexually assaulted in a cemetery in Manchester, police have said.

The 14-year-old was walking along Nell Lane in Chorlton at 15:20 GMT on Thursday when the attack happened.

She was grabbed from behind by a man and dragged into Southern Cemetery, where the assault took place.

Police said the man was startled by a car engine, which allowed the girl to escape. They have asked anyone with any information to contact them.

The offender was described as aged about 50, white, obese, wearing a white polo shirt with dark jeans.
