Woman and baby treated in hospital after Heywood fire

Three people have been rescued from a fire at a block of flats in Greater Manchester, including a woman and baby who were treated in hospital.

Fire crews were called to High Street in Heywood at 22:50 GMT on Friday after reports that a fire had broken out involving rubbish in a stairwell.

A man, woman and baby who were trapped inside were rescued by crew members.

The woman and baby were taken to hospital for treatment, but have since been allowed to return home.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has asked anyone with information about the blaze to contact them.
