The family of a 63-year-old woman who was killed when she was struck by a car in Oldham have paid tribute to her.

Lynn Steele was hit by a Toyota Yaris in Milnrow Road, Shaw at about 15:00 GMT on Monday.

Her husband Raymond, 64, was critically injured. A police spokesman said he remained in hospital.

In a statement, their relatives said Mrs Steele was a "family-orientated" grandmother-of-two who was "young at heart".

They added: "Lynn enjoyed swimming, cycling, and was a fit and active outdoors person.

"Her and Raymond enjoyed working together.

"Raymond is a keen supporter of FC United and a season ticket holder. He followed Manchester United.

"Lynn was younger than she was and didn't act her age. She was young at heart and will be sadly missed by her family and friends."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Greater Manchester Police.
