PC Brendan Buggie, 38, from Bury, is accused of causing death by driving without due care and attention while unfit through drink.

Mr Buggie was driving on Manchester Road in Ramsbottom at about 00:40 GMT when he hit a stationary van.

His front seat passenger, 26-year-old Justyna Stanczak, was taken to hospital but later died.
