Murder probe over Tyldesley 'party stabbing' death

A 23-year-old man has been stabbed to death in Greater Manchester.

The man was found wounded at about 03:00 BST in Rutland Road, Tyldesley, and died in hospital despite emergency treatment.

Detectives believe he was attacked following an argument at a party in nearby Devon Road.

A 23-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of murder, Greater Manchester Police said. Officers have increased patrols in the area.

Det Supt Jon Chadwick said: "We are in the very early stages of this investigation, however we believe there was an argument following a party on Devon Road which has led to this man's death."
