Police investigating the death of a Wigan man who died after being pushed over in the street have released CCTV images of potential witnesses.

A post-mortem examination found Michael John Warhurst, 60, of Scott Lane, died as a result of a head injury.

Police said the incident happened outside Chicago Rock Cafe, King Street, at about 01:30 BST on 8 October.

Det Insp Andy Cunliffe said: "I really need to trace the four people in these images."

He added: "I want to stress that we are treating them as potential witnesses only but we need to speak to them to establish what, if anything, they saw.

"This was a terrible incident and we need to understand the full facts of what happened so I would urge anyone who recognises themselves in the images, or those who can help us identify them, to call us."

A 29-year-old man arrested on suspicion of manslaughter has been released on bail pending further inquiries until 19 November.
