Man arrested after arson attacks on eight cars in Oldham
A man has been arrested after cars were "deliberately torched" in a series of arson attacks in the early hours of New Year's Day in Oldham, police said.
A total of eight vehicles, all in the Royton and Shaw areas, were targeted between 02:00 and 07:00 GMT.
Police said extensive damage was caused, but there have been no reports of any injuries.
A 27-year-old man from Oldham was arrested on Monday on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
Officers said he remains in police custody for questioning.
