Neville faces trial over sexual assault charge

The father of former Manchester United and England footballers Gary and Phil Neville will face a trial over a sexual assault in December.

Neville Neville, 63, of Larkfield Close in Bury spoke only to confirm his name and address in an appearance at Bolton Crown Court.

Mr Neville is accused of sexually assaulting a 46-year-old woman in the Greenmount area of Bury in March.

He was bailed ahead of the trial, which is due to begin on 16 December.

Mr Neville is the former commercial director and commercial manager of Bury Football Club and was involved in the fans' group Save Our Shakers which was formed when the club faced bankruptcy in 2002.
