A man has been charged with public nuisance after Manchester city centre's big wheel was closed during a protest.

A number of people were trapped on the wheel in Piccadilly Gardens on 6 May after it was climbed.

Domenyk Noonan, charged under the name Domenyk Lattlay-Fottfoy on Saturday, was granted bail but cannot enter Piccadilly Gardens.

The 49-year-old, of Milton Road, Stretford, is due to appear at the city's magistrates' court on 5 June.
