A man was stabbed in a "targeted" attack when masked assailants carrying machetes and bats burst into a pub in Greater Manchester.

The 23-year-old was taken to hospital following the attack at The Victoria in Radcliffe, Bury, at about 20:30 BST on Saturday.

Police said the victim suffered multiple knife wounds, although his condition is not life-threatening.

Nobody else was injured at the Ainsworth Road pub.

Det Insp Carol Hobson, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "It appears that up to 12 masked men went into the pub and launched a targeted attack on one individual.

"I would urge anyone who saw the disturbance who has not yet spoken to us to contact police."
