Fatal stab wounds 'may have been self-inflicted'

A 66-year-old woman, arrested on suspicion of murder, has been bailed as police investigate whether a man's injuries "were self-inflicted".

David Knowles, 73, was found at a house in Bolton Road, Farnworth, Bolton, at about 18:00 BST on Sunday.

A post-mortem examination found he died from a stab wound to the abdomen, Greater Manchester Police said.

Detectives said an investigation to establish the full circumstances of the death was continuing.
