Man, 19, arrested after car ploughs into Stockport home

A man has been arrested after the car he was driving crashed into a house in Greater Manchester.

Police and firefighters were called after the Vauxhall Astra struck the terraced home in Rydal Mount, Reddish near Stockport at about 04:00 GMT.

The car damaged a wall and a staircase, and two people living at the address were taken to temporary accommodation, police said.

A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

He and three passengers in the car were not seriously injured.
