Clarence Edwards club stabbing: Second man arrested over death
A second man has been arrested over the fatal stabbing of a man outside a Manchester nightclub.
Clarence Edwards, 26, was found with stab wounds following a disturbance on Charles Street outside the RBase club at about 03:30 GMT on Sunday.
He was taken to hospital but later died of his injuries. A post-mortem examination found his death was the result of stab wounds.
The arrested man, who is aged 26, is being held on suspicion of murder.
A 37-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of the same offence remains in custody.
Mr Edwards was part of a gang jailed for the death of John Lee Barrett at a Rochdale nightclub in 2011.
It is not known if the assault on him was a revenge attack and police have said they do not yet know what sparked the incident.
Det Ch Insp Ian Crewe said officers needed to "establish the exact circumstances leading to a young man losing his life".
"There would have been a lot of people who attended that club on the night Clarence died. I would urge those people to please speak to us about what happened.
"At the end of the day, a young man has lost his life and if this was your loved one - a brother or a cousin or even a best friend - you would want answers."
