Bury murder probe: Man arrested after woman stabbed

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 63-year-old woman was found stabbed to death at a house in Greater Manchester.

Police were called to the home in Rectory Lane, Bury at about 16:45 BST on Tuesday.

The victim, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, Greater Manchester Police said.

A 64-year-old man, who also suffered a stab wound, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Det Ch Insp Graham Brock said: "We are in the early stages of our enquiries but I can say at this stage that we believe this was an isolated incident."
