One dead and three injured in Hale tree crash
A man has died and three others injured when the car they were travelling in hit a tree and caught fire.
The 22-year-old driver was trapped and died at the scene on Clay Lane in Hale, Greater Manchester at about 01:10 BST.
The passengers - two of whom are aged 21 and the other 25 - managed to escape from the car and were taken to hospital.
Greater Manchester Police said they were being treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Officers appealed for witnesses to the crash, involving a Ford Focus, near the junction of Canterbury Road.
