Four hurt as car hits two families in Wythenshawe

A man is in hospital with "life-threatening injuries" after he was struck by a car which hit four pedestrians in Greater Manchester.

The 47-year-old and his nine-year-old daughter were hit by a Kia Picanto in Woodhouse Lane, Benchill, Wythenshawe, at about 16:45 GMT on Tuesday.

A woman, 27, and her two-year-old son, who was in a pushchair, were also hurt in the accident, police said.

The 88-year-old driver remained at the scene. No arrests have been made.

Police said the critically-injured man's daughter sustained some minor cuts and bruises.

The woman was treated for a broken wrist and her son was uninjured.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dash-cam footage to contact them.
