Youth shot in leg by motorbike gunman in Norris Green

A 16-year-old boy has been shot in the leg by a gunman on a motorbike in Norris Green, Liverpool.

The teenage victim was stood with four other youths by the Strand shops in Scargreen Avenue when they were shot at shortly before 2330 BST on Monday.

He suffered a bullet wound to the lower left leg and is being treated in hospital. His condition is not thought to be serious.

Police believe this may have been a targeted attack.

Detectives have appealed for anyone who saw two men on a motorbike along Scargreen Avenue and Utting Avenue at around the time of the shooting

Crime scene investigators have cordoned off the area to conduct a forensic examination and patrols have been stepped up in the area.

House-to-house inquiries have been carried out and CCTV is also being examined.
