Homeless young people in Cheshire are being urged to seek help and advice from their local council.

Halton Borough Council is holding an event to try to find out the extent of homelessness in the borough and what people with housing issues need.

People aged between 16 and 25 who have suffered housing problems are invited to the Stobart Stadium on Tuesday.

The council said more than 1,000 youths in the borough have been affected by housing issues in the past year.

Halton Borough Council's Executive Board Member for Housing Strategy, Councillor Phil Harris, said: "Halton Borough Council is committed to dealing with the problem of homelessness, which can often be a hidden problem in an area."
