Armed men raid Warrington vodka warehouse

A vodka warehouse in Warrington has been emptied by armed robbers who loaded the bottles into five stolen lorries and drove off.

Four men carrying knives attacked a security guard at an industrial estate on Clayton Road, Birchwood, between 0100 and 0400 BST on Saturday.

The supermarket and branded vodka was driven away in stolen curtain-sided heavy goods vehicles.

Cheshire police believe the raid was planned over previous weeks.

Officers have appealed for information about anyone acting suspiciously in the Melbury Park area of Birchwood.
