Armed men raid two homes in same Merseyside street

A gang of armed robbers raided two homes on a Merseyside street within minutes, police have said.

Four men, armed with hammers and knives, burst into a flat in Planetree Road, Page Moss, at 2140 BST on Saturday.

They threatened a 50-year-old man, searched his home and fled with a laptop, wallet and moneybox.

Shortly afterwards, they raided a second flat nearby, hit a woman, 22, and stole a gold bracelet.

'Before the courts'

The men are all described as white, wearing black clothing with hoods and scarves disguising their faces.

Det Con Tony Read urged anyone with information to contact Merseyside Police.

He added: "Unscrupulous people who prey on their victims in the very place where they should feel the safest - their own homes - should not be protected or tolerated in their communities.

"Help us to find the people responsible and put them before the courts."
